“What if nothing you wrote had to be realistic?”
Most journaling stays close to the ground.
What happened today, what you’re processing, what went wrong, what you’re grateful for.
All valuable, but contained.
Today, we remove the container.
What if you wrote the things you never let yourself finish thinking?
The ideas you dismiss mid-sentence.
The visions you assume aren’t meant for your life.
Not to make them happen.
Just to let them exist.
The page doesn’t ask
if it’s possible.
It just listens,
as you write.
Purposeful Journaling Practice:
Write for 10 minutes without realism.
No correcting, no explaining, no “but”.
If doubt shows up, write anyway.

This is a beautifully freeing invitation to write beyond limitation. I love how you gently challenge realism—not as something to reject, but as something we don’t have to obey all the time. I’ve been journaling since I was a kid, one year I caught one of my daughters going through them all.. not really what I wanted my kids reading because I literally let loose my whole life on paper.. I threw every journal in a big electric dumpster and walked away. I’ve always wished I didn’t do that but now I realize writing it releases hardships inside and creates the best manifestations ever.. what I’ve written so many times I forgot about thinking it’s not possible but wrote it and so many have come true you wouldn’t even believe it. I’m a full believer in write IT, all of it!!!

I started journaling late in life, actually right after I retired and after reading Writing and Being by G. Lynn Nelson. I wish I had started when I was a teenager or during my college years. It’s life-changing.

Oh I’ll have to look at that book, I’m glad you find it life changing now and do it . It’s definitely 💯 an outlet I can find the best solutions or transformations. One page can be the problem then a couple pages or even less sometimes there is the solution or new insight and somehow it just changes shape . Somedays it’s just a small sentence or paragraph, then boom new inspiration!! Cheers to your journaling !

Anything. Sometimes the things that bother or persist often go away when written away… so it can be either way.. sometimes an emotion clears when its air out and given permission to speak on the page.. I have written good and not so good because it freed me from the inner pain and gave me space to grow past it or with it in new perspectives once it hit paper.
