“Growth often begins where comfort ends.”
We are taught to smooth things over.
To ease tension.
To make it better.
But sometimes discomfort is necessary.
When you hold a boundary,
someone else may feel restricted.
When you step back,
someone else may feel abandoned.
That doesn’t mean you are wrong.
Discomfort is not damage, it is often the beginning of awareness.
If you rush to remove it,
you may interrupt the very lesson trying to unfold.
Let others wrestle with their feelings.
Let yourself remain grounded.
Growth rarely happens in perfect harmony.
It happens in the space where truth meets resistance.

Tomorrow: The difference between reaction and response.

It truly feels like we had the same thoughts in mind, especially about Comfort and The Cross.
Growth truly does begin where comfort ends.
Sometimes God allows discomfort to shape us, to teach us, and to draw us closer to Him. Not every hard feeling means something is wrong—sometimes it means He’s working.
Standing in truth with grace is powerful. The truth will set you free – John 8:32

Very true, but we are so uncomfortable in those moments, that people tend to rush by instead of using it to find a better way. Maggie

This is deeply insightful and beautifully expressed. I love how gently yet firmly you highlight the truth that growth isn’t always comfortable—it often asks us to sit with tension rather than escape it. Your words carry both wisdom and calm reassurance, especially the reminder that discomfort can be a doorway to awareness, not something to fear. It’s thoughtful, grounding, and truly empowering. I’m looking forward to reading tomorrow’s piece.

Oh thank you for sharing that, sending you so many hugs, sorry I’ve been quiet here lately. Growing all the time… yay for the sun starting to burst through the clouds here and blooms are everywhere.
