“Not everything that feels urgent is important, and not everything important arrives with urgency.”
No Longer an Emergency
There was a time
when everything felt immediate.
Breakfast needed, shoes missing, deadlines adding pressure.
Life moved fast and moving with it was essential.
But somewhere along the way
something softened.
Not because life slowed down,
but because you did, children are raised and deadlines are more of a choice.
Now, even when something breaks, even when something goes wrong,
there is a beautiful moment with room for a pause.
A breath rising with a familiar and confident knowing that sets in,
“this will be handled and it will pass.”
Reflection
Urgency used to define most days and now, you begin to see that most things, even the difficult ones can be met with steadiness instead of panic.
This doesn’t mean you care less, it means you now can hear the wisdom you’ve built and you dont waste it.
Tomorrow
Why slowing down may be the most powerful decision you make.

This is so true, Kerri. Sometimes I look back at my fanatic and wild parenting years and wonder how I had the energy to do it. This phase of my life now is contemplative, peaceful, and mindful. I never could have imagined it when I was running around like a crazy animal!

😂😂😂me either.. I’ve heard my kids say “it’s weird to see mom so calm” I guess it causes some uncomfortableness . 💕

Life feels calmer when we trust God to handle what we can’t. Not everything needs panic…. He guides our steps and gives peace in the pause.

So true… it’s taken me some years to feel through the panic and learn it’s ok to feel it without responding to it and allowing it to unfold more naturally.

I can resonate with your words, Kerri. Some things look urgent, but we realized they aren’t. Amazing reminder!
