“Joy and sorrow are different verses of the same song.”
Light can touch a tear,
and neither need to hide,
love can hold the ache,
and still feel whole inside.
The heart learns gentle balance,
between the loss and bloom,
both can live together,
and share the same room.

Tomorrow, October will come to a close with a very special surprise, leaving nothing unsaid and everything to ponder.

What a tender and soul-stirring piece! 🌷
Kerri’s words beautifully capture the delicate harmony between joy and sorrow, showing how life’s deepest emotions often coexist within the same heart. The imagery—“light can touch a tear” and “love can hold the ache”—is profoundly moving, reminding us that healing doesn’t mean forgetting, but learning to shine even through the ache.

Your very first line grabbed me, Kerri. Maybe that’s because my songwriting fits exactly with what you wrote – joy and sorrow inhabit different areas of my songs. (I’m particularly thinking of “My Shining Star.”) I love your poetry and embracing all feelings!

Each one of your pieces wraps me up like a blanket and makes me truly think about the light we have inside of us and how it can heal those around us. I feel like each of us in this community do that each day in our own truly unique ways.
Thinking of you and your family as this month draws to a close. ❤️❤️❤️
